When the soon-to-be drama club at Ben Franklin Elementary School in Yorktown Heights, New York approached me, they were looking for an identity for their theater group. They wanted it to represent their students, their school, and most importantly, their founding principles...

Brainstorming began, and we settled on a concept that paid homage to their school's namesake, Ben Franklin, but also alluded to their rising stardom.
Though this direction might have been too playful for another group, it was perfect for this children's theater troupe that wanted to embrace their connection to Franklin (by naming themselves after one of his most iconic emblems, his glasses) and reminding everyone of just how amazing they were going to be.

With the concept down, I adapted and digitized the logo, developing variations and logo marks along the way.

Then I added color: Yellow and green for their school, complimented by the other primary colors in different intensities with a soft black and warm white to complete the palette.
